UC San Diego Baseball Camps FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: “What is your coach to camper ratio?” A: Because of our strong emphasis on individual attention to each camper, we strive to have one coach for every five campers. Our coach to camper ratio will never exceed one coach to every eight campers.
Q: “Where are the camps located?” A: At Triton Baseball field on the UCSD Campus. Click here for directions.
Q: “Do I need to provide lunch and/or cash for my child? A: All meals are included for our Summer Camps. We provide lunch at the UCSD dining halls (all you can eat!) for all day campers and breakfast, lunch & dinner for Resident Campers.
While campers are not required to bring cash, we sell Gatorade, UCSD Baseball caps and shirts at the field. In addition, campers will often visit the UCSD Bookstore or order pizza in the dorms (Resident campers) after the dining halls are closed. Therefore, cash is not required but a little extra spending money is always a good idea.
Q: “Do you offer refunds for canceled enrollment?” A: Cancellations must be made 1 week prior to the 1st day of camp. Full payment is due 1 week prior to camp. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required for all day camps, & a $150 non-refundable deposit for all resident camps.
Q: “What should each player bring to camp?” A: Campers should wear a hat, shirt, belt, spikes/cleats and baseball pants during workouts on the field. Summer camp players should bring a pair of flats/athletic shoes for walking to and from the on-campus dining facilities. Each player will need their own glove and bat. Helmets are optional, the UCSD staff will provide helmets when needed. Catchers should bring all of their own gear. Resident campers will need to bring a towel. Linens are provided in the dorms.
Q: “Do I need a parking pass to park at the baseball field?” A: Parking is free on weekends. A Parking pass is required during the week. Parking passes can be purchased at a machine in the baseball field parking lot.
Q: “Are there hotels close to campus?” A: All of the hotels listed below are within 1-2 miles of the baseball field. More hotels can be found in the surrounding areas of La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Del Mar, and Pacific Beach.
